Marketed for its convenience and effectiveness, it reduces the need for scrubbing and comes in formulas like Blue Plus Bleach and Bleach-only. The product was invented in 1978 by Al Eisen, who sought a no-scrub solution using chlorine tablets. Its Blue Plus Bleach formula contains powerful disinfectants such as 1,3-Dichloro-5,5-dimethylhydantoin and related compounds, along with surfactants and fragrance for deodorizing.
